GRAVETTE — Patrons and friends of the Billy V. Corridor Senior Exercise Middle loved a number of vacation actions Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Those that had drawn names in November to take part in a secret Santa reward trade acquired and opened their items at 10:30 a.m. Shortly after all of the items had been opened, Mayor Kurt Maddox and his spouse Daybreak entertained the group by singing a number of Christmas carols with Kurt accompanying on the piano. Daybreak and her mom, Cindy Betz, shared a number of recollections of Lois Mann, Cindy’s mom, who was a frequent visitor on the heart earlier than her transfer to Florida.
Simply earlier than dinner, heart director Melissa Provence thanked the Maddox household for his or her efficiency, heart employees members and volunteers for all they do for the middle and all the middle patrons “as a result of with out you, we would not have a middle.” Fran Croxdale thanked Provence for her service and offered her a present from the group.
Christmas dinner was served at 11:30 a.m. The menu featured ham with pineapple, candy potato casserole, broccoli and cheese casserole, a roll, cranberry fluff and pecan cobbler.
The vacation celebration was well-timed. The middle was scheduled to be closed Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26, however closed a day early, on Thursday, Dec. 22, as a result of a winter storm entrance introduced blowing snow and frigid temperatures.
