Self-proclaimed sausage aficionado Mike Parry was left red-faced after being tricked into praising a vegan meat different.
Continuously vocal about his disdain for vegan meals, Parry appeared on the Jeremy Vine present on November 8. He was there to argue that vegan sausages shouldn’t be named as such, on account of their lack of meat.
Following a prolonged and impassioned rant about plant-based meat, Parry was requested to undertake a sausage sandwich style take a look at.
Introduced with two plates, Parry was requested by Vine to determine the vegan sausage. Having taken a chew of every, he introduced with absolute certainty, and a mouth nonetheless stuffed with meals, that he knew which was the imposter.
“It’s completely apparent to me that this primary one is the false sausage. That isn’t actual sausage. That’s cardboard,” he introduced with glee.
“The second is clearly actual sausage. I can style the meat in it. It was luscious and wonderful – tastes just like the one I had this morning. That is the winner,” Parry concluded, proudly holding his alternative aloft.
It then transpired that each sandwiches had been stuffed with meat-free sausages. Vine teased his visitor, accusing him of being a “vegan in disguise.” Parry then tried to backtrack on his reward for the vegan dish, saying it was really “virtually cardboard.”
